PermaTherm EPS is the “core” of our system. It isn't just foam insulation; it is an innovative building material that lends to the design and structural integrity of many building projects. Since the 1950’s, EPS has been recognized as a mainstream insulation material. Over the last decade new applications using EPS have exploded. EPS now serves as a powerful design element.

EPS possesses the physical and mechanical properties ideal for most insulation specifications. EPS insulation is easily fabricated to meet specific design and dimensional requirements. PermaTherm produces its own expanded polystyrene material. Quality control is assured through our state-of-the-art expanding, molding, and curing facility. PermaTherm only only UL approved raw materials. We use only virgin EPS in our pipe insulation products, resulting in a uniform, homogeneous material with no pockets or loose beads. There are no exotic blowing agents or volatile chemicals that may react negatively with the insulation materials or piping itself.

The end result is an absolutely superior insulating core, that is user-friendly and has excellent thermal resistance and thermal conductivity values which are long lasting. Further, because of its light weight, it is easily shipped, stored, handled and installed on the job site. Due to its design flexibility and versatility, it can be cut into sheets, slabs or any design requirement to meet specific building code standards. When installed properly, call-backs and repairs from product failures are virtually eliminated. PermaTherm insulation products have been tested by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. and meet the requirements of the Standard Mechanical Code and the International Mechanical Code for pipe and equipment insulation.

EPS Perimeter Insulation in Foundation Applications

With its outstanding resistance to moisture absorption, EPS insulation provides dependable, long-term performance for interior and exterior foundation applications. EPS density, strength and thickness can be specified to meet loading and thermal requirements. Block masonry applications may be supplemented with EPS loose fill placed in the masonry cores for even greater R-values.

Sub-slab Insulation: Long term R-value of EPS ensures effective thermal insulation for on grade concrete floors. Substantially reduces downward heat loss.

Exterior Perimeter Foundation Walls: EPS may be attached with spot adhesive. Above-grade EPS insulation should be covered with a suitable protective exterior coating.

Interior Foundation Walls: Suitable for heated crawl spaces and basement areas. Supplements batt insulation between floor joists. Apply a suitable vapor.

EPS Insulation in Roofing Applications

EPS roof insulation products offer the design versatility to meet a wide range of job conditions. Equally suited to new construction and re-roofing applications, EPS insulation products provide the greatest R-value at the lowest cost in both asphaltic built-up and single-ply membrane roofs.
